Between 1875 and 1893, the Canadian Post Office used registered letter stamps in order to make registered letters easier to distinguish from other mail. The stamps can be regarded as forerunners of registration labels, as postmasters often wrote the registration numbers on the stamps. This five frame exhibit includes proofs and specimens, mint and used stamps, varieties and postal use of the stamps. The exhibit is shown as a pdf file.
Stefan Heijtz has kindly agreed to make his exhibits available on Netex. They can also be seen on his own website.
